Fuel Cell
Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that convert the chemical energy of a fuel (hydrogen, coal, natural gas, gasoline, or diesel) into electrical energy without combustion, so the formation of pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides, is essentially non-existent.
Production of hydrogen
Hydrogen reformer
As a source for the hydrogen, which is fed into the fuel cell, different hydrogen bearers can be used. Among them there are methanol and natural gas. From these two the hydrogen is extracted with the help of a so-called reformer and then can be led into the fuel cell.
