Geothermal heat pumps
Heat pumps use environmental energy from the ground, water or air. From the 100% power requirement of a building can nearly 75% taken from the ground. The rest of 25% are taken by the energy for the heat pump.
Heat pumps are known since years, they are improved in the time and today they are well-engineered and proved their reliability and capability.
In the foreign countries of Europe heat pumps are esteemed. In Switzerland over 30% of the new buildings equipped with heat pumps.
More and more builder uses this eco-friendly heating system. One reason for it is the thought at the environment and the responsibility for the future. And one other reason is the economic view.
The air-to-water heat pump
source: Energieagentur NRW
This form uses the ambient air as energy source. It can be the air in the cellar room to produce hot water.
Or it can be the external air to heat the house. Normally heat energy is needed with low external temperatures, so it is used an additional heating source, for example a heating element. But if you build a house with a low thermal heat needing, there is a chance that one air-to-water heat pump is enough to handle it. So you need no additional heating element.
The water source heat pumps
source: Energieargentur NRW
This form uses the ground water as energy source.
It uses two fountains. From the first are water taken to attend the heat pump. The heat pump takes energy from the water and gives it back to the ground about the second fountain.
The energy taken from the ground water is transferred to the thermal circulation in the house.
So the water gets heated in your heating system.
The sole water heat pump
The sole water heat pump use geothermal power too. To use the geothermal power there are ground collectors or loops being needed, they are made of plastic pipes and used as closed circles.
Collectors and loops only differ by there use.
Collectors lie horizontal in the ground of your land. A depth of 1 – 1,2 meter are absolutely enough to get the power you need to heat your house at cold winter days.
To use loops you need some bores where the ties are inserted – every bore two ties. The number of bores depends on the heating power you need and your ground.
